IT Support Technician

San Francisco

Formation is looking for our first IT Support Technician to run end to end IT services for the organization. Formation distills customer data into uniquely tailored experiences; we orchestrate physical and digital exchanges into one seamless journey. You will focus on providing exceptional service for our local team as well as remote through timely high quality technical services. You have a keen interest in IT security as well to be able to influence our security measures. As the first member of the IT Team, you will have the opportunity to lead IT projects and help set the tone for the team as we lay the foundation and continue to expand on our IT services and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general IT support to our San Francisco and remote employees
  • Manage and administer enterprise applications including but not limited to Google Suite, Slack, Atlassian products, and Okta
  • Install and configure the hardware and software for laptops, workstations and printers
  • Manage the local network (routing, switching, WiFi, Firewalls)
  • Support and ensure IT Security efforts are met (network, endpoint, etc)
  • Collaborate closely with Human Resources to facilitate the onboarding and offboarding processes
  • Maintain conference room audio and video systems
  • Document case statuses and provide updates to management and end-users
  • Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in an IT Support Role
  • Prior experience with Munki, JAMF, MDM
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Mac environments in addition to Windows and Linux
  • Experience managing networking devices (Meraki, PAN Firewalls)
  • Ability to set up and maintain directory services (LDAP or AD)
  • Ability to work onsite at our San Francisco HQ and provide occasional support outside of regular business hours as needed
  • Experience with conference room audio and video systems (Zoom preferred)
  • Prior experience working with a development/engineering team or technology startup preferred
