Business Operations Lead

Formation is seeking a Business Operations Lead to drive growth and improvements in the organization and contribute to the success of our flagship product. Our platform learns and adapts to people's preferences, habits, and feedback—orchestrating highly relevant experiences that are truly unique to each person. As a member of the Business Operations team, you will be expected to accelerate strategic initiatives for the company, as well as manage a number of critical, ongoing activities and processes – touching all parts of the organization (Engineering, Data Science, Product, Design, Sales, Customer Success and other business functions). You will have executive level visibility and a finger on the pulse of the overall organization.

This position is based in San Francisco, CA and will report to the Head of Business Development and Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive analysis of strategic opportunities working closely with key executives
  • Generate outcome-focused business models that drive towards key decision making
  • Work closely with Formation’s Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer teams to strategically align priorities and roadmaps
  • Develop operational dashboards to provide regular insights into company performance and levers for improvement
  • Drive our pricing strategy and support sales and business development with structuring key deals
  • Play a critical role throughout the strategic planning process
  • Collaborate with finance and senior leaders to craft regular updates to the Board of Directors
  • Support equity and debt financing efforts and diligence sessions, as needed

Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years of work experience in a business operations, strategy, management consulting, or similar role
  • Prior experience in Business Operations at an enterprise SaaS company, ideally during the company’s rapid growth phase
  • Proven track record of breaking down and solving complex problems with impeccable business judgment
  • Ability to balance numerous different priorities and demands while hitting time-sensitive deadlines
  • Ability to produce work with a high degree of accuracy in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment—without losing sight of the bigger picture
  • A cross-functional mindset with a solid understanding of strategic and operational planning and business processes
  • Robust analytical, financial modeling and presentation skills, experience with SQL is a plus
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
